I see that there is both a reader and a vierer for .3ds (and .obj), but it is not clear to me whether I can write or export a file in these formats. I need to be able to create objects in my application and then open them in SketchUp PRO which can open either of these file formats.
Is this possible using your solution(s)?
Thanks,
Lloyd
It is not possible to write to 3ds or obj file.
But if do not need object hierarchies you can quite easily write data to obj file - it is a text file with quite simple structure.

Thanks, Andrej. This is more something I'd like to do, but not something I need to do. I would just like to find a way to implement it without a lot of effort. :->
