Full Version: Mirror effect in rendering

I load various models from obj files with associated mtl files.  I export these from blender and have been trying to create a chrome material which includes mirroring as part of the rendering.  I'm not overly familiar with the contents of mtl files but i believe the illum field sets the level of rendering.  This is set to 5 by the blender export function.  When the model loads in the powertoys 3D scene, there is no mirroring.  Is this unsupported?  Or is there something I'm doing wrong.   It won't let me upload the mtl or obj file so here is the material file:

# Blender MTL File: 'GaugeTest.blend'
# Material Count: 1

Ka 0.850000 0.850000 0.850000
Kd 0.280445 0.280445 0.280445
Ks 1.000000 1.000000 1.000000

WPF 3D rendering does not support reflections or any other advanced effect. So this cannot be achieved with using only Ab3d.PowerToys library.

But with using Ab3d.DXEngine (https://www.ab4d.com/DXEngine.aspx) you can render the objects with using Physical Base Rendering that also supports environment mapping (see https://www.ab4d.com/images/DXEngineGall...sample.jpg) or with standard material with additional support for environment mapping (see https://www.ab4d.com/images/DXEngineGall...talMap.jpg).

Please check the samples that come with Ab3d.DXEngine for more info.

Note that ReaderObj does not support the illum setting from the mtl file. You will need to setup the environment (cube map scene) by yourself and also enable the environment map manually.
