Problem with textures
#1
Viewer3ds can't display textures that are attached to .3ds model.
I try to set textures folder but with no result.
Where is the problem?

Here i attached a 3mb model...

It looks like there is no attachment with your post.
Could you please try again - please create a zip file with your 3ds file and the texture. If you would not like to share the file with others, you can use send a private message on http://www.wpf-graphics.com/Feedback.aspx.

Viewer3ds should display textures correctly. But they should be in the file format that is supported by .net: jpg, bmp, png, tif, png.

Textures in other file formats are not supported - you should use an image conversion tool to convert the image into one of the supported file formats.

It says that attachment size must be less then 0kb
In feedback max size is 500kb

Textures are in .JPG format

Maybe the problem is that 3ds file only accepts 8 characters long texture file names.

If your file name is "my_texture_12345.jpg" it will be saved into as "my_textu.jpg" - at least 3D Studio Max does so. Probably Poser does the same.

So you can try and rename your textures into shorter file names.

The required texture file name (as written in 3ds file) can be also seen when the 3ds file is opened in Viewer3ds - it shows you a warning that the texture file is missing - it also gives you the required file name.

How to solve the problem when exporting more than 64kb faces to 3ds ?

Uh, the only way to go around this problem is probably by splitting the complex object in 3D modeling application.

Maybe you should also consider to simplify the model.
